Halachah and Kabbalah: The Tension between Law and Mysticism

Thursdays December 6; 13 & 20 7:00-8:30p Rabbi Malino

Throughout history and across religious traditions, there has always been tension between those who believe that tradition, consistent practice, and institutions are the primary means of living a religious life, and those who derive authority and wisdom from their immediate personal experience of God.  We will examine these tensions as they have played out in Jewish history and thought through the ages, as well as considering how they inform and enrich our religious experiences today.
