The Jewish community is diverse in thought and belief, and there is no place more suitable to see this in action than our Temple Beth Shalom library. With over 2,500 books in our collection, almost every Jewish subject is covered with varied thoughts and attitudes. If you want a good book, this is the place for you. Come in and discover the wealth of material we have to share. Library Information & Guidelines The library is accessible during office and school hours. All members and religious school students and their families are welcome. Library books can be checked out for one month. After almost ten years of no consistent updating, we have completely reorganized and reclassified our collection.
-The library is now using the Elazar Classification System for Libraries of Judaica instead of the Dewey Decimal System. It’s a much broader classification system for the needs of a Jewish library. However, the basic concept of finding a book is the same.
-Young children’s books are grouped by subject, not by call number. Check out the colored dot system posted on the wall. Library Catalog Online Our catalog is now online. Follow the link to take you to the site. There is no need to login. We are currently in the process of adding TBS call numbers to the “Notes” section at the bottom of each specific book-information page.
